I picked up this book from Amazon after seeing it in a large chain bookstore and admiring the artwork. The story is great too, as it tells of the first night a young bat ventures out on his own, with only his "song" (echolocation) to guide him.

A little upset about the condition of the book though/5(70). Chiro the bat is sent out into the nighttime world by his mother in this lovely picture-book examination of echolocation. Instructed to use his song to find the local pond and eating place, he sets out, hesitant at first and then more confident, as his song sends back information about the world around him.4/5.
